A wife was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband’s key in the door.
“Stay where you are,” she said.
“He’s so drunk he won’t even notice you’re in bed with me.”
The husband lurched into bed, but a few minutes later, through a drunken haze, he saw six feet sticking out at the end of the bed. He turned to his wife:
“Hey, there are six feet in this bed. There should only be four. What’s going on?”
“You’re so drunk you miscounted,” said the wife.
Get out of bed and try again. You can see better from over there.
The husband climbed out of bed and counted.
One, two, three, four, you’re right.
The husband then stumbled back into bed and promptly fell asleep, completely unaware of what had just transpired. The next morning, the wife woke up feeling guilty about what had happened the night before. She knew she had to come clean to her husband about her infidelity, but she also didn’t want to ruin their marriage.
As her husband woke up, she nervously waited for the right moment to confess. However, to her surprise, he turned to her with a smile on his face and said, “I had the craziest dream last night. I dreamt that there were six feet in our bed!” The wife was relieved and couldn’t believe her luck. She quickly agreed with him, dismissing the incident as a silly dream.
From that day on, the wife made sure to never bring up the incident again. She was grateful for her husband’s obliviousness and vowed to never put herself in such a compromising situation again. She realized that she loved her husband and didn’t want to risk losing him over a foolish mistake.
The couple went on to live a happy and fulfilling life together, and the wife made sure to never take their relationship for granted again. She learned from her mistake and was grateful for the second chance she had been given.
This story serves as a reminder that honesty is always the best policy in a relationship. While the wife was lucky to get away with her deception, it could have easily ended in disaster. It’s important to always be truthful with your partner and work through any issues together.
In the end, the wife was grateful for her husband’s forgiveness and vowed to always cherish their love. She knew that she had come dangerously close to losing it all, but was thankful for the wake-up call. Love is a precious thing, and it should never be taken for granted.
