“This is horror-stricken,” Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said. “An 11-year-old little girl who’s given birth, and she had no one to be with her.”

The child and her siblings have been removed from the home amid reports of unsanitary conditions, including no running water for years and pets causing messes, as described by neighbor Cheryl Adkins. Adkins, who repeatedly contacted authorities, expressed outrage: “They robbed her of her childhood.”

The girl’s grandmother, identified only as Michelle, defended the family, insisting they were unaware of the pregnancy and that the girl claimed a 12-year-old boy was responsible.

“They’ve made my daughter and my son-in-law a monster,” Michelle said. “They are not. They love those children.”
