Before the game was set to get underway, New York City native Karina Paisan, now living in Madrid, performed the national anthem.

The singer signed with Def Jam as a teenager and got a Grammy nomination for her song Can’t Find the Words in the Best Contemporary R&B category. She even performed at the White House during Black Music Month in 2007.

While she belted out the Star Spangled Banner in great fashion, social media erupted with tweets about her. Many were furious about her outfit.

Pasian wore a black mini dress with a deep cowl neckline, thigh-high stockings, garters, and long gloves that reached over her elbows during her performance.
