Her husband had attempted to persuade her over the years to modify her hairdo, but she had always been very proud of her 1.5 meter long hair.
She went to the hairdresser with some of her pals after 25 hard years and had her hair cut to her shoulders because she had finally had enough.
“We love to see different things done on customers — different styles — and we meet very often and I always see her the same way,” Eda Motchka, the owner of the hair salon told WXYZ-TV Detroit about Ramirez.
But she had a reason for doing that. Rosa sent 4 feet of her hair to the nonprofit company Locks of Love, which manufactures wigs for kids whose hair has been lost to cancer.“I think it would make somebody’s day who’s suffering from a bad disease, it will make their day a little brighter,” Ramirez said.
Despite her husband’s pleas, Rosa Ramirez held onto her 1.5 meter long hair for 20 years. However, one day, she finally decided to make a change and cut her hair to shoulder length. The decision was not an easy one for her, as she had always been proud of her long locks.
Accompanied by some friends, Rosa visited a hair salon where she had her hair cut. The salon owner, Eda Motchka, expressed surprise at seeing Rosa with a different hairstyle after so many years. It was clear that Rosa had made a significant change that day.
The reason behind Rosa’s decision to cut her hair was a heartfelt one. She chose to donate 4 feet of her hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer. Rosa’s selfless act was driven by the desire to bring a little bit of joy to those who are battling a difficult disease.
In an interview with WXYZ-TV Detroit, Rosa shared her motivation for donating her hair. She believed that by donating her hair, she could make a difference in someone’s life and brighten their day. It was a gesture of kindness and compassion that reflected Rosa’s generous spirit.
After 20 years of holding onto her long hair, Rosa’s decision to cut it was a significant moment for her. It was a symbol of change, generosity, and selflessness. Despite her husband’s initial reluctance, Rosa’s act of kindness touched the hearts of many.
The transformation that Rosa underwent that day was not just physical, but also emotional. It was a reminder of the power of small acts of kindness and the impact they can have on others. Rosa’s story serves as a beautiful example of how a simple gesture can make a difference in someone’s life.
