One of the biggest names in K-Pop, Lisa from the group Blackpink, was an attendee at the Met Gala 2025. The singer was recently featured in the third season for HBO’s White Lotus.
However, it seems that her outfit has sparked a lot of backlash online because of a certain image people have seemed to have identified.

Lisa, a member of the international pop sensation band Blackpink, made her Met Gala debut on Monday night. The singer cum actress wore a custom Louis Vuitton ensemble to represent the theme for this year, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”
However, her outfit did not elicit the reaction she was hoping for.
Her outfit, which featured an embroidered black blazer, logo tights, and a lacy bodysuit that cut off at her thighs, essentially gave her a ‘pantless’ look. However, the buzz around Lisa was not her pantless attire but what her outfit featured.
People who zoomed in on her outfit, could tell the lace pattern on her underwear depicted faces of women. One of them looked eerily familiar to Rosa Parks, the late American civil rights icon.
And people were angry because this is not the first time Lisa has been called out for alleged racist behavior. One person posted on X, for “Rosa Parks on your underwear less than 3 months after a compilation of you saying the N word goes viral is kinda crazy but maybe thats just me!”
While another angry netizen chimed in, “whoever at LV needs to be jailed,” referring to the designer of the garment who may have led to this event taking place.
Others could not stomach her audacity, with one person saying, “the theme is tailoring black style why is she wearing civil rights leaders on her crotch”
The faces were made with lace and hence mostly visible below her waist as she wore a blazer on top.
“I was wondering why Rosa Parks was trending got scared…. I know Lisa does not have Rosa Parks all over her underwear right now. WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA????? Mind you not only is it highly distasteful, how is this on theme?” another angry fan asked.
This incident comes weeks after a video of Lisa and other Blackpink members, Jennie and Rosé, resurfaced where they reportedly used a racial slur while on stage.
There was no statement or acknowledgement of the incident which further fueled anger among fans.
“despite saying the n-word multiple times and never apologizing, lisa doesn’t seem to care as she wears underwear with images of ROSA PARKS, a civil rights icon who fought against racial injustice,” one popular post on X read.
According to The Cut, a representative for Louis Vuitton confirmed the design was made by American artist Henry Taylor, who was chosen by Pharrell Williams personally. According to the representative, the print featured “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life.”
The brand or anyone on Lisa’s team is yet to confirm whether the woman picture on her underwear was indeed Rosa Parks.
