Male blood was found at the remote Washington campsite where three young sisters were killed, investigators revealed Monday—adding a disturbing new detail as their father, the only suspect, remains missing.
According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office per PEOPLE, one of the blood samples found at Rock Island Campground, where the bodies of Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, were discovered, belonged to a male. Another sample was determined to be non-human.
Authorities believe the girls were killed during a court-ordered visit with their father, 39-year-old Travis Decker, who disappeared after failing to return them to their mother on May 30.
On June 2, the girls’ bodies were found in a tent near Decker’s abandoned white pickup truck. Investigators also found two bloody handprints on the truck’s tailgate. DNA and fingerprint testing is still underway.
Decker’s dog was found near the campsite and has been turned over to the local humane society, the sheriff’s office said.

“Update 10 1630 hours 6/10/2025**Tracking teams believe they are on Decker’s trail, community support and tips are still needed!Law Enforcement have tracked a subject believed to be Decker into Blewett Pass/ HWY 97 area. We are asking for the public, especially those who live or have cabins in the area, to remain highly vigilant and report any suspicious activity.First off, we here at CCSO want to thank the countless hours spent on this search by men and women of law enforcement from a vast number of agencies across our region, state, and nation. The amount of work that has been accomplished thus far could not have happened without them and we are forever grateful.Our office recently received a tip from a hiking party who stated they spotted a lone hiker in the Enchantments area who appeared to be ill prepared for trail and weather conditions, and appeared to be avoiding others. Tracking teams immediately acted upon the information and spotted a lone, off trail hiker from a helicopter near Colchuck Lake who ran from sight as the helicopter passed. Additional assets were called to the area while they developed a plan to track the individual. Teams later picked up a trail and deployed K9s to the area, tracking the subject to the area of Ingalls Creek Trailhead on HWY 97.”
The search for Decker is still active and covers rugged, remote areas. Federal agents have joined the effort, but the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office continues to lead the investigation. Search teams have focused on areas like Ingalls Creek and Valley High.
Decker, a former Army soldier with survival training, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, kidnapping, custodial interference, and fleeing to avoid prosecution. Authorities believe he may be trying to reach Canada, possibly by traveling through remote trails near the border.
Investigators suspect the male blood found at the scene belongs to Decker. The second blood sample, which is non-human, is still being analyzed.
Officials warn that Decker could be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to contact Chelan County Dispatch.
