On stage for the Emerge 20th Anniversary Gala, in her speech she used the example of the current political climate to demonstrate how it is a crucial turning point in American history.
She praised everyday American citizens, saying how she admired their resilience against a “man-made economic crisis” brought on by “reckless tariffs” and a disregard for court orders.
“We all know President Trump and his administration, and their allies are counting on the notion that fear can be contagious,” she said in her speech. She spoke so her voice was audible above the applause. She said, “But what they have overlooked is that fear is not the only thing that’s contagious. Courage is contagious.”
