put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn’t even look at a cow.
I was beginning to think I had paid more for that bull than he was worth. Anyway……
I had the Vet come and take a look at him. He said,, the bull was very healthy, but possibly just a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once per day.
The bull started to service the cows within two days……. all my cows! He even broke through the fence and bred with all of my neighbor’s cows! He’s like a machine!
I don’t know what was in the pills the Vet gave him … but they kind of taste like peppermint.
I recently made a big investment in a registered Black Angus bull, spending a whopping $6,500. I was expecting great things from this bull, hoping that he would improve the genetics of my herd and bring in some strong, healthy calves. However, things didn’t go quite as planned when I first introduced him to the cows.
To my disappointment, the bull showed no interest in the cows and simply grazed on grass all day. I started to worry that I had overpaid for a bull that wasn’t living up to his potential. Concerned about his behavior, I called the Vet to come and take a look at him.
The Vet reassured me that the bull was in good health, but he might just be a little young and inexperienced. He prescribed some pills for me to feed the bull once a day, promising that they would help him become more active. Skeptical but willing to try anything, I followed the Vet’s instructions and started giving the bull the pills.
To my surprise, within just two days, the bull’s behavior completely changed. He started servicing all of my cows and even managed to break through the fence and breed with my neighbor’s cows as well. It was like he had transformed into a breeding machine overnight. I couldn’t believe the sudden turnaround in his performance.
Curious about the pills that had such a dramatic effect on the bull, I asked the Vet about them. He chuckled and mentioned that they had a hint of peppermint flavor, which might have been the secret ingredient that sparked the bull’s newfound passion for breeding.
Although I never expected to spend so much money on a bull or have to resort to giving him pills, I can’t deny the positive impact it had on my herd. Thanks to those mysterious peppermint pills, my investment in the bull finally paid off, and I now have a strong, active sire producing healthy calves for my operation.
