Maxwell’s newly released testimony adds another jagged layer to the already tangled Clinton–Epstein saga. Under questioning, she painted Clinton as her friend, not Epstein’s, insisting he never set foot on the financier’s private island and never received a massage aboard the jet — the only setting, she claimed, where such an encounter could have occurred in her presence. That assertion collides awkwardly with 2002 photographs appearing to show Clinton getting a shoulder rub from Epstein accuser Chauntae Davies during an Africa trip, and with Virginia Giuffre’s earlier statement that Clinton visited the island, even though she alleged no crime by him.
Maxwell also cast herself as “very central” to the launch of the Clinton Global Initiative, saying Epstein enthusiastically backed her role and tried to leverage it for his own access. Through it all, Clinton has flatly denied knowing of Epstein’s crimes, while Maxwell’s attorney now argues her cooperation proves she never should have been convicted at all.
