However, Melania put a soft hand on Trump’s back as he approached the podium, and he touched her back in return. Then, according to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, a gentle conversation was captured:

Some weren’t so sure, while others thought the nickname was a unique display of affection. Judi James, a body language expert, examined the same video and provided a more nuanced analysis.

She noted Melania’s calm manner and described small hand movements or hair adjustments as indicators of underlying tension. She did, however, recognize some touching moments, such as the brief moment at the beginning of the ceremony when Melania held Trump’s hand.
