Body Language Expert Analyzes Trump and Zelenskyy’s Tense Meeting After ‘Agreement’ Reached

People were eager to hear what was said at Donald Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, April 26.

The 78-year-old Trump declared a number of issues he wanted to resolve in the world when he took the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States on January 20.

He began by approving executive orders, deporting innocent men and children as part of his anti-immigration campaign, and initiating a tariff war with nations worldwide.

However, Ukraine has been at the top of his list of priorities.

Thus, the two used this weekend’s Pope Francis burial in Vatican City as an occasion to talk.

Both presidents were bent over in their chairs in the pictures that followed, giving the impression that they were engaged in a serious discourse.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which Trump thinks he can help end, has caused the two to have some uncomfortable encounters.

However, when Zelenskyy was criticized for showing little regard for the United States a few months earlier, tensions in the Oval Office skyrocketed.

According to a body language specialist, the leaders’ meeting in St. Peter’s Basilica may mark a fresh beginning for them because of what their bodies were saying us.

The ‘phenomenally intense’ exchange of ideas was like two chess professionals assessing each other, Judi James told Mail Online.

However, rather than arguing once more, the two appeared to be trying to reach a consensus.

James told the publication, “This is phenomenally intense-looking body language, made all the more surreal by the setting it’s occurring in.”

“Their poses here make them look like two men hunched over a game of chess, plotting and competing,’ although here, she said, ‘it’s the fate of the world they are haggling over.”

She added, “The horn-locking positioning of the heads could look sinister, suggesting conflict.”

“But the close proximity of the two men here and the mirrored positions seems to weigh the balance in the direction of moving to agreement rather than conflict.”

She continued by saying that Trump intended to “register physical dominance” in the altercation and that the Oval Office debate demonstrated a “physical response of aggressive arousal with Trump.”

on contrast, “both men here seem more intent in looking like physical and status equals,” according to the Saturday chat.

Trump’s feet are the reason she is aware of this.

According to James, “Trump is on his toes and his feet are pushed under his chair, suggesting a desire to move and keep flexible in his discussion.”

Furthermore, she gets the impression that he wants to “listen” to what his opponent is saying because of his clasped hands and “lips pursed” in the pictures.

Zelenskyy’s “feet are pushed out and planted flat on the floor,” nevertheless, give the impression that he is being “stubborn.”

She added, “However, his cupped hands suggest a desire to persuade, with his raised brows suggesting he’s keen to make a point.”

So, how did the discussions turn out?

Following that, both leaders posted their own remarks on social media, stating that the conversation was constructive.

Zelensky wrote on X: “Good meeting. We discussed a lot one on one. Hoping for results on everything we covered.”

“Protecting lives of our people. Full and unconditional ceasefire. Reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out.”

“Very symbolic meeting that has potential to become historic, if we achieve joint results. Thank you.”

“There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities, and towns, over the last few days,” Trump said on his own social media platform, Truth Social, in response to Russia’s refusal to reach a deal with Ukraine and the US.

“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through ‘Banking’ or ‘Secondary Sanctions?’ Too many people are dying!!!”

He added, “No matter what deal I make with respect to Russia/Ukraine, no matter how good it is, even if it’s the greatest deal ever made, The Failing New York Times will speak BADLY of it.”
