The Jeffrey Epstein case is back in the headlines — and this time, it’s President Donald Trump’s name making waves once again.

Newly released emails from the U.S. Congress show that the convicted sex offender mentioned the president several times in messages to Ghislaine Maxwell.

New emails released

On Wednesday, Democrats in Congress released a series of emails from Jeffrey Epstein, including one in which he wrote, “Of course he knew about the girls,” referring to Donald Trump in a 2019 message to author Michael Wolff.

The emails, dating from 2011 to 2019, were shared as part of the Oversight Committee’s ongoing investigation into Epstein and Maxwell.

In one 2011 exchange, Epstein wrote to Maxwell:

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump.”

He added that an unnamed victim had “spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned.”

Maxwell replied simply:

“I have been thinking about that.”

The “unnamed victim”

While the identity of the “unnamed victim” was initially withheld, the White House has since claimed the person is Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most well-known accusers, who tragically died by suicide earlier this year at her home in Australia.

In a statement to media outlets, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said:

“The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.”

Leavitt continued:

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”

“He took people that work for me”

Epstein’s name has long been tied to some of the most powerful figures in the world, from royalty to politicians to billionaires. His shocking death in a New York jail cell in 2019, ruled a suicide, came just weeks after his arrest on federal sex trafficking charges.

Trump has consistently maintained that he cut ties with Epstein decades ago.

“He took people that work for me, and I told him, ‘Don’t do it anymore.’ And he did it. I said, ‘Stay the hell out of here,’” Trump told reporters in a past interview.

But the newly uncovered emails suggest Epstein saw Trump as someone who could still be useful, at least publicly.

In one 2015 email to author Michael Wolff, Epstein asked how Trump might respond if questioned about their relationship. Wolff replied:

“If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you valuable political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you.”

Epstein responded later, claiming Trump “knew about the girls” and had once asked Ghislaine Maxwell “to stop.”

These revelations have renewed calls from Democrats for more transparency around Epstein’s connections. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said in a statement:

“These latest emails and correspondence raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the president.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson says he will ensure the House holds a vote next week on releasing the so-called Epstein documents, CNN reports.

Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former partner, was convicted in 2021 of child sex trafficking and related crimes. She’s currently serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison.
