Seguin, TX — July 14, 2016.
What could have ended in tragedy turned into a story of survival on Highway 123 near Seguin, when a large piece of metal flew off an 18-wheeler and pierced the windshield of a Ford Focus traveling behind it.

The dangerous incident unfolded around midday when the big rig, moving at roughly 75 miles per hour, shed a steel tread plate (commonly called “diamond plate”) that had been bolted behind the truck’s cab. The heavy plate went airborne, crashing directly into the compact car behind.
