Trump Sparks Controversy After People Spot What’s On His iPhone Lock Screen

A recent photo snapped by a news photographer has social media buzzing after revealing President Donald Trump’s iPhone lock screen — and it’s led to everything from criticism to conspiracy theories.

The image, taken at a public event, shows Trump’s phone screen displaying a high-resolution photo of himself pointing toward the camera. While some online were quick to mock the president for what they saw as self-obsession, others viewed it as a power move. Still others took the moment in an entirely different direction — pointing to the time visible on the screen: 9:11.

“Trump’s lock screen shows a photo of himself? Seriously? Not his grandkids, not a scenic landscape — just him. “Textbook self-obsession,” one critic wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

But not everyone saw it that way. One supporter fired back, writing, “No president carries more presence than Trump. Even his lock screen commands attention. Total alpha move.”

The photo’s timestamp ignited further discussion. With the clock reading 9:11, some social media users began to link it—speculatively—to the September 11 terrorist attacks. One X user wrote, “Weird timing. Trump’s phone lock screen captured at exactly 9:11. Given his Butler, PA rally and that bizarre assassination attempt, it’s definitely raising eyebrows.”

Others even asked whether this meant Trump might be preparing to declassify more 9/11-related documents if re-elected, though no credible evidence supports the idea.

“Could this mean Trump plans to unveil the 9/11 documents?” another user asked, fueling further speculation online.

As of now, neither Trump nor his team has commented on the viral image or the attention it’s drawn.

The president, however, has been busy on other fronts. At a recent rally in Pennsylvania, Trump announced plans to double tariffs on imported steel and aluminum — raising the rate from 25% to 50%. The move, he said, is aimed at strengthening American industry.

“We’re doubling the steel tariff from 25% to 50% to protect American jobs and strengthen our steel industry,” Trump declared to an enthusiastic crowd.

Not everyone was cheering. Canada’s Chamber of Commerce swiftly pushed back, calling the tariff hike a threat to North American economic stability.

“Breaking up reliable and efficient cross-border steel and aluminum trade will hurt both countries,” said Candace Laing, the chamber’s president, in a statement.

While Trump’s phone wallpaper raised eyebrows, his economic policy continues to stir debate — both at home and across the border.
