Tragedy in Santana do Livramento: Mourning and solidarity in the Grêmio

Last Friday, a tragic traffic accident shook not only a family but also the entire football world, especially Grêmio Football Porto Alegrense. Coach Mano Menezes will not be able to participate in the Brasileirão match against São Paulo, having been cleared to return to Porto Alegre and be with his loved ones, following the loss of two family members in a tragic incident.

The accident

The accident occurred on BR-293 in Santana do Livramento, resulting in the deaths of Maria Sophia Dumoncel, just 16 years old, and her brother, Arthur Dumoncel, 9 years old. In addition to them, a 42-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, also died at the scene.
