Doctor Reveals: MRI Scan Of The Face Of A 33-Year-Old Woman Reveals Where All Of Her Filler Went.

A medical surgeon recently captured attention by sharing footage of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, showcasing how a patient’s hyaluronic acid fillers had expanded and moved on their own over time.

This revelation left thousands of viewers amazed, many of whom noted that their own fillers had never dissolved.

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to enhance facial features, smooth out wrinkles, soften creases, and restore lost volume.

Each year, over a million individuals choose this popular facial rejuvenation treatment, as reported by the board.

Hyaluronic acid fillers, the most commonly used type of injectable fillers, are known for being the most temporary option, typically lasting between 6 to 18 months.

Oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Kami Parsa gained widespread attention after sharing a video of an MRI.

Dr. Kami Parsa, an oculoplastic surgeon based in Beverly Hills, California, shared a video on his TikTok account on Friday, July 12, featuring a patient’s MRI. The footage illustrated the changes in the patient’s face resulting from injectable treatments.

The patient, a 33-year-old woman, had received over 12 CC (12 milliliters) of hyaluronic acid filler throughout the past six years.

In the video, which has garnered more than 7.2 million views, the MRI displayed a grey face with green spots illuminating various areas, such as the lips and cheeks, indicating where the hyaluronic acid filler remained.

While Dr. Parsa did not detail the specific procedures the patient underwent, he mentioned that a volumetric analysis revealed the total amount of filler in the woman’s face to be 28 CC.

The doctor mentioned in his video, “This is more than twice the amount of filler that was injected.”

He went on to clarify, “This indicates that hyaluronic acid fillers are hydrophilic, meaning they attract water and can lead to tissue expansion.”

The MRI raised some eyebrows, with one TikTok user expressing concern: “I just don’t understand how this wouldn’t completely harm the lymphatic system.”

“FINALLY, THIS IS BEING DISCUSSED,” another user commented. “The mass production and excessive use without any WARNING. I need more information. What about Botox?”

Dr. Parsa responded, “Botox has a well-established history and is safe when administered properly.”

The MRI revealed that the quantity of hyaluronic acid fillers injected into a patient had increased significantly.

Someone mentioned: “Water is essential for maintaining my filler.”

A viewer shared: “I keep telling everyone I’ve only had my lips done three times, 0.5ml each time, and it’s been five years since then, yet my lips look the same because it DOES NOT DISSOLVE.”

“When it was first introduced, all injectors claimed it would last only six months,” a netizen wrote, to which the medical expert replied: “That’s what the filler companies were telling us.”

An observer remarked: “I had chin filler ONCE a decade ago, and I’ve never needed a touch-up since. It has remained unchanged all this time.”

Another person added: “I had my lips done eight years ago, and they still haven’t faded.”

Fillers have become increasingly popular, and celebrities who excessively use them often face criticism.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes recently faced backlash from social media beauty critics after older and newer photos of the couple circulated online this year.

On March 29, Meredith West, a physician assistant with a Master of Science and 15 years of experience in plastic surgery and injectables, posted a joint reel with Mountcastle Medical Spa, a medical spa located in Virginia, on her Instagram account.

Ryan and Eva’s transformation photos in the film highlighted a striking shift in their looks, with the couple appearing noticeably “puffier” compared to earlier images.

“I suspect they’ve both undergone some cosmetic enhancements recently,” Meredith wrote in the caption for the Reel.

“It seems like Eva may have had some facial surgery, perhaps a facelift along with fat grafting, and it’s likely they both received Botox and facial fillers,” the spokesperson elaborated.

Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used ingredient in injectable fillers.

Botulinum toxin injections, commonly known as Botox, work by relaxing facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines, such as frown lines and crow’s feet, as stated by the NHS.

However, excessive use of Botox and fillers can have adverse effects. Nurse Gemavie warns that too much Botox can result in significant muscle weakness, which may interfere with facial expressions and create an unnatural look.

Dermatologist Jessica Weiser noted in a March 2023 Allure article that there is a noticeable occurrence of overdone fillers. She described the result as the “classic pillow-face appearance,” characterized by excessive puffiness and unusual facial proportions.

While various factors contribute to this issue, poor decision-making by some injectors is certainly a significant factor, according to Allure.

Meredith mentioned in the caption of her imagined Ryan-Eva cosmetic procedure video, “I believe they both looked fantastic as they were and only required a bit of preventative toxin and perhaps some biostim (like Sculptra) for collagen enhancement.”

Naturally, this also encompasses the use of medical-grade skincare products, such as CO2 treatments, radiofrequency, laser therapy, and microneedling for maintenance and prevention.

Aesthetics expert Jonny Betteridge is one of the medical professionals who has shared insights on the physical changes of the Barbie star.

In a Reel posted on March 28 that attracted 2.2 million views, Jonny discussed the 43-year-old actor and the evolution of his appearance over the years.

“He has consistently had very masculine features, with well-defined cheekbones, a strong jawline, and a broad chin,” the doctor noted while reviewing Ryan’s earlier photos.

Dr. Parsa performed a volumetric analysis to assess the fillers in a 33-year-old patient.

Jonny elaborated, “A distinctive feature of his look is the flatness in the mid-face area.

“You can observe this here, where the face appears somewhat sunken.

“Many of my clients seeking dermal filler treatments require some level of mid-face enhancement, which I achieve by injecting filler at these four key points.

“The goal is to restore the structure of the cheekbones and add back volume.”

The aesthetics expert went on to mention that the Canadian native’s look has become increasingly “overfilled” in recent years.

“It’s evident that his facial proportions have changed, with noticeable fullness in the mid-face and cheeks,” Jonny noted. “This is further highlighted by the dynamic movements of the face when smiling, which is a typical sign of someone who may have received excessive filler in that area.”

One individual commented, “Me and my fillers are panicking right now.”
